Kemp High School Band 2012-2013

“Back to Band” Camp

All marching activities will be held at the High School Band Hall and the practice field behind the Stadium. The dates of the camp are July 30 thru August 10. July 27 is for the band leadership team. Please read the descriptions for each day carefully. Attendance is required and mandatory. Please DO NOT MISS. Those who march and play next to you are counting on you! Our goal is to learn the entire half time show during “Back to Band” Camp.

Monday, July 30 thru Tuesday July 31 – Woodwind/Brass/Percussion Must bring a water bottle, sunscreen, marching shoes (no sandals of any kind), hat, shades, instrument, and a sack lunch (or money for food). 8:00a.m. – Check In/Registration at HS Band Hall 8:30a.m. – Sectionals / Marching Fundamentals 12:00p.m. – Lunch (on your own, sack lunch suggested) 1:00p.m. – Sectionals / Marching Fundamentals 3:00p.m. – Dismiss

Wednesday, August 1 thru Friday, August 3 – Full “Back to Band” Camp Must bring a water bottle, sunscreen, marching shoes (no sandals of any kind), hat, shades, instrument, and a sack lunch (or money for food). 7:45a.m. – Check In at HS Band Hall

8:00a.m. – Marching Fundamentals/Drill 12:00p.m. – Lunch (on your own, sack lunch suggested) 1:00p.m. – Marching Fundamental Review/Music Rehearsal 3:00p.m. – Dismiss

It is important that ALL high school band members attend “Back to Band” Camp. Attendance is required and mandatory. The success of the “Pride of the Yellowjacket” Marching Band depends on each and every member attending these crucial rehearsals. We will be learning our marching fundamentals and music for entire marching season. Our 2012 “A Night at the Movies” marching show is going to be very exciting! Don’t miss it!
