2018-2019 Region Clinic and Concert
Clinic Dates: January 18-19, 2019
Clinic Site: Canton High School
Friday-Bring food money for lunch-$20 should be enough. Normal school clothes. We will leave at the end of first period. We’ll be back home around 6:00pmish.
Saturday-meet at HS at 7:30am. Normal clothes. JH, bring nice dress clothes to change into for concert. HS bring concert blacks for performance.
All concerts are free to the public. Parents/Family-we ask that you attend to hear your students’ performance and then you may check them out after they are done.

For those going to area auditions…we will be meeting at the band hall at 6:45am to load up to head to Argyle High School this Saturday the12th. You need to bring food money for the day…concession stand while we are there and enough for a nice sit down meal after we are done. We will be back around late afternoon/early evening depending on how quickly tryouts go.

Merry Christmas Everyone! Kemp Band Christmas Concerts are here! All concerts are in the high school auditorium and begin at 6:00pm.
We are taking donations of baked goods, crafts, etc. to auction off as part of our annual Band Booster Christmas Auctions during the concerts. Please bring your item to the school before the concert or concerts of your choice. Thank you for supporting the kiddos!
Make sure you are getting all the remind updates. These include what to wear, times to meet, things to bring, etc. If you need to get on remind for your student’s band, please look at the info under the appropriate tab at the top of the website or call the school and a director can help you. 903-498-1334 for JH, 903-498-9234 for HS

All Region students will head to the band hall after 6th period and load the trailer and bus.
Bring money for concession stand money. School dress code is in effect.
Auditions will be at Mabank High School and will last from 3:30 to 10ish/11ish.
Your parents may check you out after your audition is complete if you wish. Parents must check out their student through Mr. Christy for visual confirmation and text for digital record. Otherwise, students will remain with us until all members have auditioned.

Hey we go! The next round of Playoffs is this week. Here are the details we know
Friday Nov. 23rd.
We are playing Atlanta ISD. We are the “Home” team.
Tyler Rose Stadium.
Make sure you have your band shirt (or playoff shirt if you have one), band shorts, black socks…just like any other game.
8:00am Band Hall open. Get dressed out in bibbers quickly.
8:30am Short warm up before send off.
9:00am Send off for the team…load trailer immediately after send off is over.
9:30amish Load buses and depart.
11:00amish Arrive in Tyler and eat lunch.
11:30am unload and get ready for game.
12:30pm Game starts
2:00pmish Halftime performance: Either on our own playing stand tunes to both side or combine with Atlanta-plans are yet to be determined.
4:00pmish Game ends. Pack up and head home.
5:30pmish Arrive back in Kemp, unload and go home.

The first playoff game will be this Thursday at Royse City High School at 7:00pm.

Students will need their band shorts, black socks and can wear either their band shirt or a playoff shirt if they bought one.
Wear thermals…IT’S GOING TO BE COLD. Gloves, beanies, coats…bring them…wear them.
Band hall will be open after school. Call time is 4:30pm to dress out in uniform (not wearing our band hats) and load the trailer. We’ll depart round 5:15pm.
Bring your 5 dollars for meal deal.
Should be home before midnight…updates will be posted on remind text service.

Saturday Nov. 10th. Veteran’s Day Parade.
ALL students are able to march this parade in honor of our Veterans and their service to our country.
Doors will open at 9:30am. We will load and depart for 7 Points.
Parade will start at 11:00am through 7 Points and end up at the VFW.
The VFW will provide lunch and a program.
We should be back in Kemp around 2:00pm
Friday Nov. 9th. Malakoff Game
3:40pm Doors will be open for individual/group practices.
5:00pm Load and dress out in full uniform
7:30pm Game starts
Game end time depends on game play. Please check remind for updates on return time.
This is for the District Championship. Go Jackets!

11:30a.m. All will eat during “A” lunch. Report to the Band Hall after “A” lunch wearing your band shirt, band shorts and black socks. Load trailer and put on Uniform Bibbers (no coats yet)
1:00p.m. Depart for Mesquite
2:00p.m. Unload instruments put on hats and coats
2:40p.m. Move toward South Warm Up Area
2:55p.m. Warm Up
3:25p.m. Move toward Stadium entrance to perform
4:15p.m. Load trailer – hang up entire uniform
5:15p.m. Announcement of Scores
5:45p.m. Load buses and head to Luby’s. Band Boosters are buying dinner.

REGION 3 MARCHING CONTEST
- ADMISSION PRICE IS $5.00 FOR AGE 6 & OVER; NO CHARGE FOR UNDER 6 YEARS.
- SPECTATORS WILL BE GIVEN A WRISTBAND TO WEAR WHICH WILL ALLOW RE-ENTRY INTO THE STADIUM IF THEY LEAVE AND PLAN TO RETURN DURING THE DAY.
- BAND DIRECTORS, SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS, SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS, AND SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS MAY GET IN AT NO CHARGE.
- MEMBERS OF A COMPETING BAND WILL NOT BE CHARGED, BUT SHOULD BE IN UNIFORM (OFFICIAL BAND SHIRTS OKAY) OR ENTER THE STADIUM AS A GROUP WITH THEIR DIRECTOR.
