SOLO AND ENSEMBLE SATURDAY FEB. 2nd
We will be meeting at the high school band hall at 6:00am this Saturday for Solo and Ensemble Contest. Please be on time and make sure you have had breakfast.
Student need to be dressed in appropriate contest performance clothing and must follow the dress code. Nice dress/blouse/dress pants for the ladies. Slacks/dress pants/button down and tie or polo shirt for the guys.
We will be at Old Mesquite High School like usual.

Performances start promptly at 8:00am and run through the 10:00am hour. Hopefully, all scores will be in our hands by 11:00ish and we would be home around noon to 1:00pm. If there is any change, we will send out a Remind Text.
Parents may check out their children if they have finished with their performances if they wish. They must check out in person with their child face to face with a director. Mr. Christy will be on hand to do so. Please see that you have his cell number.
There will be concessions at the contest site. I would urge the students to have enough money for snacks and lunch as this can be a long day of waiting.
Students may bring a change of clothes for after their performance. Again, it must be dress code.

Friday-Bring food money for lunch-$20 should be enough. Normal school clothes. We will leave at the end of first period. We’ll be back home around 6:00pmish.
Saturday-meet at HS at 7:30am. Normal clothes. JH, bring nice dress clothes to change into for concert. HS bring concert blacks for performance.
All concerts are free to the public. Parents/Family-we ask that you attend to hear your students’ performance and then you may check them out after they are done.

For those going to area auditions…we will be meeting at the band hall at 6:45am to load up to head to Argyle High School this Saturday the12th. You need to bring food money for the day…concession stand while we are there and enough for a nice sit down meal after we are done. We will be back around late afternoon/early evening depending on how quickly tryouts go.
Junior High Band Fundraiser will be delivered this coming Monday, Dec. 17th. We currently have a delivery window from 9:00am to 2:00pm. As soon as all items are delivered I will be sending Remind messages to all our junior high classes. If you have not subscribed to our Remind App all the codes are listed below.

Merry Christmas Everyone! Kemp Band Christmas Concerts are here! All concerts are in the high school auditorium and begin at 6:00pm.
We are taking donations of baked goods, crafts, etc. to auction off as part of our annual Band Booster Christmas Auctions during the concerts. Please bring your item to the school before the concert or concerts of your choice. Thank you for supporting the kiddos!
Make sure you are getting all the remind updates. These include what to wear, times to meet, things to bring, etc. If you need to get on remind for your student’s band, please look at the info under the appropriate tab at the top of the website or call the school and a director can help you. 903-498-1334 for JH, 903-498-9234 for HS

All Region students will head to the band hall after 6th period and load the trailer and bus.
Bring money for concession stand money. School dress code is in effect.
Auditions will be at Mabank High School and will last from 3:30 to 10ish/11ish.
Your parents may check you out after your audition is complete if you wish. Parents must check out their student through Mr. Christy for visual confirmation and text for digital record. Otherwise, students will remain with us until all members have auditioned.
The students listed below will be competing at All Region Band Auditions tomorrow 11/28/18 at Ferris High School. These students are the only ones that will be auditioning. All entries were submitted two weeks ago and it is too late to add anyone else.
*Students will need to wear their Kemp Band Polo or a Kemp shirt. This is a request not only from us but the host school and region coordinators.
**Bring money for concession stand and snacks.
- All students need to report to ‘A’ lunch
- 11:45am– Load truck/trailer and bus
- 12:15pm– Leave Junior High and head to Ferris High School
- Ferris High School Address: 1025 E 8th St, Ferris, TX 75125
- 1:15pm– Arrive in Ferris and unload instruments
- 1:30pm– Check-in for auditions
- 2:30pm– Auditions begin (students audition in random order)
- 8:00/8:30pm– Leave Ferris and return to Kemp
- 9:00/9:30pm– Arrive in Kemp
*Arrival time is estimated and is subject to change.*
- The Kemp Directors will be judging the contest and should only be contacted in case of emergency.
- Students will be monitored by chaperones.
- If you are planning on checking your student out after they audition, you must make arrangements with a director before November 29th. Please bring a signed note or email us no later than November 28th.
